Dachshund Cavalier Mix
A Dachshund Cavalier mix is a cross between a Dachshund and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Most grow into small dogs of 10–14 lb and live 12–16 years.

Photos show the purebred parents. There is no single look for a mix: puppies in one litter can resemble either side.
How big does a Dachshund Cavalier Mix get?
Pounds. The dark band is where most Dachshund Cavalier Mix dogs end up; the light band is the full range between the smallest and largest parent.
Height runs 8–10 inches at the shoulder, against 5–6 in for the Miniature Dachshund and 12–13 in for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Size figures assume a Miniature Dachshund parent, the size closest to the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. A different dachshund size moves the whole range.
Coat, energy and training
Neither parent has a low-shedding coat, so expect dog hair around the house and seasonal heavy shedding.
Daily walks and some play are enough for most of these dogs.
The Dachshund rates moderate and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel very high; a puppy may lean either way.
A weekly brush and the odd bath keep the coat in shape.
Temperament
The Dachshund is usually described as friendly, curious, spunky. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel as affectionate, gentle, graceful. A mix can take after either parent or land in between. If you can, meet both parents of a puppy before you choose.
