Dachshund Papillon Mix
A Dachshund Papillon mix is a cross between a Dachshund and a Papillon. Most grow into toy-sized dogs of 6–10 lb and live 13–16 years.

Photos show the purebred parents. There is no single look for a mix: puppies in one litter can resemble either side.
How big does a Dachshund Papillon Mix get?
Pounds. The dark band is where most Dachshund Papillon Mix dogs end up; the light band is the full range between the smallest and largest parent.
Height runs 6–8 inches at the shoulder, against 5–6 in for the Miniature Dachshund and 8–11 in for the Papillon.
Size figures assume a Miniature Dachshund parent, the size closest to the Papillon. A different dachshund size moves the whole range.
Coat, energy and training
Neither parent has a low-shedding coat, so expect dog hair around the house and seasonal heavy shedding.
Daily walks and some play are enough for most of these dogs.
The Dachshund rates moderate and the Papillon very high; a puppy may lean either way.
A weekly brush and the odd bath keep the coat in shape.
Temperament
The Dachshund is usually described as friendly, curious, spunky. The Papillon as friendly, alert, happy. A mix can take after either parent or land in between. If you can, meet both parents of a puppy before you choose.
