Poodle Mastiff Mix
A Poodle Mastiff mix is a cross between a Poodle and a Mastiff. Most grow into giant dogs of 80–150 lb and live 8–14 years.
Photos show the purebred parents. There is no single look for a mix: puppies in one litter can resemble either side.
How big does a Poodle Mastiff Mix get?
Pounds. The dark band is where most Poodle Mastiff Mix dogs end up; the light band is the full range between the smallest and largest parent.
Height runs 23–27 inches at the shoulder, against 18–24 in for the Standard Poodle and 27.5–30 in for the Mastiff. The parents differ a lot in size, so litters vary more than usual. Breeders normally use the larger breed as the mother to keep whelping safe.
Size figures assume a Standard Poodle parent, the size closest to the Mastiff. A different poodle size moves the whole range.
Coat, energy and training
Poodle has a low-shedding coat, so some puppies shed little. It is not guaranteed: coat type varies even within one litter, and no dog is truly hypoallergenic.
Daily walks and some play are enough for most of these dogs.
The Poodle rates very high and the Mastiff moderate; a puppy may lean either way.
Brush a couple of times a week.
Temperament
The Poodle is usually described as active, proud, very smart. The Mastiff as courageous, dignified, good-natured. A mix can take after either parent or land in between. If you can, meet both parents of a puppy before you choose.
