Border Collie Pointer Mix
A Border Collie Pointer mix is a cross between a Border Collie and a German Shorthaired Pointer. Most grow into medium-sized dogs of 40–60 lb and live 11–14 years.

Photos show the purebred parents. There is no single look for a mix: puppies in one litter can resemble either side.
How big does a Border Collie Pointer Mix get?
Pounds. The dark band is where most Border Collie Pointer Mix dogs end up; the light band is the full range between the smallest and largest parent.
Height runs 20–24 inches at the shoulder, against 18–22 in for the Border Collie and 21–25 in for the German Shorthaired Pointer.
Coat, energy and training
Neither parent has a low-shedding coat, so expect dog hair around the house and seasonal heavy shedding.
Plan on long daily walks plus real exercise, such as running, fetch or a sport. A yard alone will not tire this dog out.
The Border Collie rates very high and the German Shorthaired Pointer very high; a puppy may lean either way.
Brush a couple of times a week.
Temperament
The Border Collie is usually described as affectionate, smart, energetic. The German Shorthaired Pointer as friendly, smart, willing to please. A mix can take after either parent or land in between. If you can, meet both parents of a puppy before you choose.
