Dachshund Mastiff Mix
A Dachshund Mastiff mix is a cross between a Dachshund and a Mastiff. Most grow into giant dogs of 70–130 lb and live 9–13 years.

Photos show the purebred parents. There is no single look for a mix: puppies in one litter can resemble either side.
How big does a Dachshund Mastiff Mix get?
Pounds. The dark band is where most Dachshund Mastiff Mix dogs end up; the light band is the full range between the smallest and largest parent.
Height runs 18–20 inches at the shoulder, against 8–9 in for the Standard Dachshund and 27.5–30 in for the Mastiff. The parents differ a lot in size, so litters vary more than usual. Breeders normally use the larger breed as the mother to keep whelping safe.
Size figures assume a Standard Dachshund parent, the size closest to the Mastiff. A different dachshund size moves the whole range.
Coat, energy and training
Neither parent has a low-shedding coat, so expect dog hair around the house and seasonal heavy shedding.
Daily walks and some play are enough for most of these dogs.
The Dachshund rates moderate and the Mastiff moderate; a puppy may lean either way.
A weekly brush and the odd bath keep the coat in shape.
Temperament
The Dachshund is usually described as friendly, curious, spunky. The Mastiff as courageous, dignified, good-natured. A mix can take after either parent or land in between. If you can, meet both parents of a puppy before you choose.
